DNR Trails Grant
Jeff Davis County and Towns Bluff Park have been working on the completion of a DNR trails grant. The grant includes a boardwalk in a low-lying area, benches and picnic tables along the trails, tree identification and signage along the entrances to the park and trails.  To complete the requirements of the grant, we must have volunteers from the community invest a certain amount of time on the trails.  Some of the jobs that need to be completed include: cleaning along the trails and around the posts that have been erected; covering roots; cleaning up the "beach" area; planting flowers and plants; and putting up signs to mark the trails.   These are just a few of the little touches that would help make the park more beautiful and also fulfill the requirements of the grant.
If you would like to volunteer a few hours at the park, it would really be appreciated!  Just call 912-379-9303, email, or come to the Heritage Center between 8 am and 5 pm.  It is very important that your time be logged so that we can get credit for it.  If you go after hours, just be sure to call and we will get your name and time in the logbook.  Thank you for considering this worthwhile activity.
